I haven’t done one of these for a while so I thought I better catch up.

  1. Hotchalk has some great articles of late. One on managing small and cooperative groups. Another on the learning values of metaphors and a final article on teaching “If…then…else” statements. Happy reading.
  2. June 15 marked the 257th anniversary of Ben Franklin and that kite experiment. Read about it here
  3. I like the look of these two sites; Simply Box and Shelfari…now if only I could use them without having the kids to have an account.
  4. I do like Breathing Earth for so many reasons.

Here’s a list of websites I cam across in my travels today of all that is good and educational (or has some fun factor in it).

Spineless Wonders – has been studying, photographing, writing and teaching about invertebrates and reptiles for over 30 years. His knowledge and experience is simply outstanding. If you need images to illustrate your project or work, if you need expert advice about this incredibly diverse subject area then contact Spineless Wonders today.

Iphone Games – PC Mag has tested 11 games that you must have on your iPhone or iTouch.

Teachers on Twitter
– Here is an excellent list of teachers and their subjects who are twits on Twitter. BTW you can follow me @teachinglife

Here’s a wrap up of the educational sites I came across today in my browsing. Enjoy.

Podictionary – A podcast of a word’s etymology. You can subscribe via email or iTunes or read along on the website. Interesting, informative and sometimes rather funny.

Apple Wallpaper – Some really clever ones linked here.; 30 of ‘em in fact. I’ve now got the Homer, Apple on XP and Woodgrain Apple. Could have gone a few more, but I’ll start with these and let the kids in the classroom ooo and arrr over them.

Subtitute Teacher Tips
– If you’re a substitute, an ET or a CRT you’ll no doubt value some of these resources and ideas listed on this site.

Links Galore - Here are some good examples of both formal and informal e-learning and which have been developed using a variety of technologies and for different contexts
